2021 Kia Forte

The Kia Forte gets a couple of trim updates for the 2021 model year and offers plenty of standard safety features even at the base trim, which has a starting price of $17,890 (plus destination fee). Some of the many reasons consumers buy a Kia Forte are its affordable price point, stylish exterior, modern interior, and compact size. For a compact sedan under 20k, that is incredible value for consumers shopping with a budget. With a total of six trim levels to choose from, buyers can select and configure their ideal sedan that fits their driving needs. All trims are available in a manual or automatic transmission ($900 extra for the automatic), with the top-tier GT trim starting at $23,655 that comes standard with an automatic gearbox (however, opting for a manual in the GT trim is an extra $600). The GT trim is a highly recommendable option to get the most out of the 2021 Kia Forte. It comes with a 1.6 L turbocharged engine that produces 201hp, has bigger front brakes, and has an onboard high-flow active exhaust system.

Cabin Space and Interior Comfort

The interior of the 2021 Kia Forte is welcoming and uncluttered featuring a nicely contoured dash and linear design throughout. The circular air vents imitate the appearance of turbine engines found on commercial airplanes. At the center of the dash is a standard 8-inch touchscreen offering Kia’s latest infotainment software that provides vehicle information and other media types. The seats in the Kia Forte are stylish and comfortable, and on the GT trim, the seats receive red stitching and an embroidered GT logo.

Extra Features and Technology

Safety features such as forward collision mitigation, lane keep assist, and driver attention monitoring is standard on the base FE trim. It also comes equipped with a steering wheel that adjusts for height and reach. The base trim is an entry-level configuration that still offers consumers incredible value, such as an onboard trip computer, cloth upholstery, and six-way manually adjustable front seats.  With onboard USB ports, auxiliary audio input, Bluetooth, and a 4-speaker audio system, the FE trim offer plenty of utility and tech under 20k. With a perfectly positioned standard 8-inch touchscreen at the top of the center console, a convenient row of buttons below it for various media functions. Prospective buyers can upgrade to the LXS trim for an additional $1,500 that adds soft-touch materials on the dashboard and alongside the door panels.

Use of Materials and Design Factors

Bonus points go to the 2021 Kia Forte for its incredible value and pleasing aesthetics inside and out. There is also a hint of Stinger flavor in its design which can be seen with the dual exhausts on the GT trim and the tiger nose front grille. Wheel sizes range from 15-inches to 18-inches depending on the trim level, with the GT trim featuring red-painted brake calipers and red accents on its front grille. It’s also important to note that all 2021 Kia Forte models still have the old Kia logo. The new 2022 and 2023 models are going to have the new ones.

Cargo Capacity and Utility

For consumers that often travel with lots of luggage or supplies, the Kia Forte surprisingly offers a respectable amount of truck space, a total of 15.3 cubic ft. Starting at the LSX trim and above, a 60/40 folding rear seat allows for extra space to place even more items.  Are you interested in driving home a 2021 Kia Forte? Don’t wait any longer.
